About Rob Suisted

Rob Suisted is one of New Zealand’s best known and most respected photographers.

Rob's photography appears widely. Murals greeting travellers in international airports, to images marketing NZ to the world, over 20 calendars each year, more than 30 NZ postage stamps, or his 16 pictorial books to date (one of which won a NZ book award, and his latest is the official Country Calendar 50th anniversary book for TVNZ), there's a good chance you're already familar with some his work. Also, 20 of his photographs appear on the latest NZ bank notes.

His love of the outdoors and our wildlife has led him to a background in zoology, previously a career in conservation management (as NZ's national marine mammal advisor), along with extensive experience in New Zealand’s remote back-country areas. He is also a frequent visitor to the spectacular sub-Antarctic, and Antarctic regions to the south of New Zealand. He has just finished his thirteenth pictorial book project, and often speaks publicly on the subjects of photography, conservation, and the environment. Where are we?

We're based in Wellington, New Zealand. We're always happy to discuss ideas or offer help if you'd like to discuss things. We have some accessible canvasses at our studio, and we're proud of having other accessible prints hanging in Whitebait Restaurant in Wellington (Clyde Quay Wharf, Wellington), a restaurant that mirrors many of our values. It's well worth a visit.
